This first-annual women’s retreat “Soul Repair for Women,” facilitated by Back2Basics Outdoor Adventures, has been designed to give participants insight into critical life issues and explore personal strategies to balance mind, body and spirit in a safe, supportive environment.
The disease of addiction – like any disease – enters into our lives, unwanted. When it comes, it brings destruction and despair. Suddenly we are in the middle of a chaotic war zone, and we are never sure how or why the first shot was fired. It doesn’t take long before we are fighting daily, for our lives, and the lives of those around us. We are scared. We are angry. We are grief stricken. Every day it seems like it might change, and then we are crushed again when the same drama gets played out over an over. We blame our partners, children, and the institutions that are supposed to help us. We blame ourselves.
Trust and hope leak from us until it feels like there is nothing left. The dream of love, joy, and a beautiful family seems destroyed.
This retreat would be about rediscovering ourselves and realizing our dream of health, happiness, and freedom!
