We are so humbled and proud of the things our clients can do. They climb mountains every day, and to overcome the incline of life with endurance, passion and gut is truly inspiring. With the recent implementation of Anne’s writing class we have seen B2B client Peter hone his knack for sports writing and logic. With Mother’s Day on the horizon, we had to share the progress with his mom. I think she is as happy as we are (if not more so) about his progress…
Email from Anne, B2B Journalist and writing coach:
So, Peter: His main passion is sports, primarily football. And even though he claims not to be a reader, he totally gets the game, gets the language, and can REALLY write about it! We took apart one of this article responses from last time and broke it into sentences. Once he grasped the process of expressing each thought clearly and building toward a logical narrative, he was really on a roll! He began to catch himself on things like random capitalizations, and asked for spellings when he was unsure. By the end, he had a commentary about Peyton Manning’s evidently poor decision to join the Denver Broncos instead of the 49ers. We were both floored; I think he has the passion and the willingness to do something with sport commentaries, and I told him so. So, he is to be reading the sports sections this week of any paper he can get his hands on, paying attention to both the sports news stories and the columns, and writing another commentary by next week.
Email back to Anne and Roy from B2B mom:
Wow – thanks for sharing Roy! This brought tears to my eyes. As you know, I knew his passion. It’s just wonderful to see someone who has taken an interest and is encouraging him…this may just be the energizing spark that he needs!! =) Thanks, Lauren
