Client Journal – Bonding at the Grand Canyon

Table of Contents

Recently we went on a 3-day trip to the Grand Canyon. I have only been there once, so this was my second time going and we did a little different of a trail. It was probably in my top 3 trips that I have been on. We ended up doing the South Kaibab trail which was really beautiful. Although, the scenic views were super gorgeous, we also had quality time with each other. It was a super bonding experience for us and I thought I got a lot closer with the two clients that I went with. We had a really good sharing is caring where we talked about our roles in the community and how we are helping others. It is super important in recovery to give back since our whole using past consisted of taking. I am almost 6 months sober and I feel like one of the most important things is giving back and doing for addicts still using what was done for me. So, it was good to give the rclients feedback on if they were giving back enough. We also had 2 really good A.A. meetings where we did some really good book studies that were super beneficial. It was really good to hangout with these guys and get on a personal basis with them. It was nice to talk with these clients about what they were going through and how I could help hold them accountable.
