My name is Rob and I just turned 25 recently. In the beginning I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to take the wilderness first aid course. Boy am I glad I did looking back on the experience I had. Considering I hadn’t taken a test or a class in 8 years, you could say I was a little nervous to say the least. But it gave me a really good opportunity to practice my new program that I can learn at Back2Basics and to see where I was at in my sobriety. Also the chance to meet other people from Flagstaff was a great way to do some networking for later when I graduate from Back2Basics. Balancing all of this was a little tough since the days ran long and finding an AA meeting was hard at times but remembering to put my sobriety first was key. I’m not sure if I’ll ever use the skills I learned but at the same time being in a school environment was good, considering I’ll be enrolled in school again in January. So if you ask me if i would do it all over again my answer would be yes anytime.
