Clients vs. Staff

Client Journal – Austin P

Me and one of my closest friends here in the residential community had a conversation about how close we are with staff and how different our relationship with staff has changed over the months.

I remember getting to B2B and feeling like staff was out to get me. I use to think that giving staff intel on a situation was “snitching” or “ratting” due to my old ways. I use to try to hide all kinds of stuff from staff and be as sneaky as possible. It is crazy how my mindset has changed. I can truly say that I respect every staff member a lot. I can open up to staff about any problem that I am having and they usually give me back some good feedback on how to be assertive next time a situation may arise. After all, most of the staff is in recovery as well and most of them have dealt with what I am dealing with. It is always good to have some people I can trust and to fall on when I’m having a problem.

I use to think I would never be able to trust staff and did not want to open up to them. But now, I can say staff really cares about my recovery and care about theirs as well. It is super cool to have a really good relationship with every staff member and I really feel confident in my recovery because of the community I have built around me whether it is staff or clients.
