Coffee in my recovery…
I have recently been asked to look at my relationship with coffee and recovery. So many people feel that too much coffee can be dangerous, others can’t start their day without it.
Prior to getting sober, I could take it or leave it (coffee that is), but for whatever reason, a decade later, I cannot see my life without it. I drink it all…A hot coffee from the French Press, a brewed cup from Mr.Coffee… a thick cup from my Italian Press… A steamy cup from my mix of grounds thrown into boiling water, which eventually settles down to the bottom of my cast iron concoction…A muddy cup of cowboy coffee on a cold morning at the banks of the Colorado River…A day old cup that I refuse to just throw away.
No, I do not believe coffee is a bad thing. I believe it is my friend that jump starts my day, whether it is sunny or cloudy, windy or cold, nothing appeals stronger than Colombian Bold!
