My Favorite Outdoor Adventure Recovery Trip

Table of Contents

The outdoor trip that stands out the most to me was the trip to Mesa Verde. It was the most fun and most spectacular trip I’ve ever been on.  The start of the trip consisted of a beautiful drive through a little bit of the park. We could see for miles across the plain the mountain. We had a pretty awesome base camp as well.

The first hike was right next to our camp it was called ‘Piles Crest’. It  took us around this mountain edge. There was an amazing view once we hit the edge of the mountain. We took a break on it smoking a cig and eating a snack taking in the most amazing view.

After the hike we went back to camp and made a pretty bomb dinner. All of us were pretty worn out and went to bed pretty early. In the morning we went to check out these huts made by ancient natives They were clay and sandstone houses built in the side of a mountain. It was very interesting and cool to see how technical the natives were. After that we went to a camping place and had an AA Meeting.

After the meeting we went to go check out some more ancient spots. We went to this placed called ‘Badger House’. It was another house inside the mountain. This place had a pretty bad ass view. We ended up staying there to do our sharing is caring.  The view and the people helped me bring out a lot of feelings and I got great feedback. After that we all went back to camp ate and went to bed.

That morning we went and did another hike it was through a canyon up a mountain. We saw hieroglyphics on the wall up and some pretty amazing views after that we just wondered around the park till night. Night was the best part of the trip because we got to go to the last but best hike of all it was called ‘Point Lookout’.

Point Lookout overlooked the valley. We got to see it at sunset. It was the most amazing view I’ve ever seen. We stayed there 30 minutes watching the sunset. I didn’t want to leave. When we finally left I was sad but at least I still have all the amazing memories.
