This weeks trip to Grand Canyon National Park was busy, busy, busy!  We managed to get in two very hard hikes, both Hermit’s Trail to Dripping Springs and Grandview Trail to Horseshoe Mesa. We also attended two interpretive presentations in the evenings on Caves in the Canyon and the Condor Reintroduction Program.  We were fortunate enough to see a rare California Condor soaring on the updrafts at Horseshoe Mesa – simply spectacular to see these birds in such an amazing environment.  Our mornings and evenings were otherwise filled with meetings and meditation.  The final day we visited the Yavapai Geological Museum and hiked to see some ancient Indian ruins in Wupatki National Monument  where we learned about the Anasazi and Sinagua culture in the Wupatki Visitor Center. Lastly, we drove through Sunset Crater National Monument to check out some old lava flows.  I don’t know how we managed to fit in so much in three days!  Just an awesome trip.
