Joshua Tree Take 2: Bouldering and Rock Climbing

Table of Contents

This week we are headed to Joshua Tree National Park.  It has a very beautiful, unique landscape that is home to a variety of different plants and animals.  In our previous visit, we experienced warm weather, beautiful sunsets and incredible views on our hikes.  Also, we were able to get some “bouldering” in.  Bouldering is a basic form of climbing that is done on smaller rocks to prevent injury.  There are no ropes, only a “crash pad.”  The vast amount of boulder fields in Joshua Tree National Park make this a destination for climbers.  Rock climbing is an incredible way to get out, work your butt off and feel accomplished by solving problems.  Bouldering problems are routes that you can work on to complete. A sense of accomplishment can go a long way when struggling with the past and lacking self worth.  Instilling confidence and feeling safe with your fellow climbers is a great way to build relationships and trust.
