Our last trip in the Grand Canyon my group was privileged enough to get the opportunity to do a rim to rim as our last trip in the canyon. It was a three-night, four day hiking trip. We started our adventure on the North Kaibab and hiked down to Cottonwood Campground.
The next day we hiked seven miles to Phantom Ranch. We took a side trail to an amazing spot called Ribbion Falls. I had been there about eight years ago with two of my best friends. It was as beautiful as I had remembered it.
After camping at Phantom Ranch for the night we started our ascent up to the south rim. Our first destination on our uphill journey was to Indian Garden. We spent a relaxing evening there before waking up the next morning to hike up the Bright Angel trail to the top of the South Rim. It was an awesome and challenging hike. I felt amazing once we got to the top.
We spent our remaining days around the canyon doing activities. We went to two A.A. meetings and saw an IMAX film on the “Hidden Secrets of the Grand Canyon”, and our last day was spent biking on the rim. All in all it was a great trip with great people and great times. It was a hike worth remembering.
