Second Chances… Its One Day At A Time

Going into treatment is not an easy thing to do. Most of us that come to Back2Basics make a large geographical change which is not an easy thing to do for people of our type. Eventually we adapt to the change and the environment because that is what we do, we are survivors. This was something that I had to do in April of 2016. It was hard and I didn’t want to stay but after my head cleared I realized this was the best thing for me so I did what I had to do to work on my self. I started to participate in all the community activities, work my AA, plus I am with my sponsor. Slowly but surely life started to get much better.

As I moved on from residential I went into transition this was the start to get back into life. I had to learn about how to deal with life outside of rehab and the life skills to live productively as a normal human. I started to work as an intern at B2B and I worked with Kathy in the culinary department. I learned so much from her with all of the time i spent with her especially life skills and how to deal with life on life’s terms. This helped me through transition and my daily life especially with dealing with people that get on my nerves and that were hard to deal with. As I come to the end of my stay in transition I became very worn down on the process and was tired and ready for it to be over and get on with life. This should of been a warning sign that I should of talked about. When I moved out of transition I stopped going to meetings and talking to my sponsor etc and started to slide. It was all over from there I started to smoke pot and the next thing I knew I had a needle in my arm and couldn’t stop shooting dope. Now I am back at B2B for my second time….
