On Sunday we started our morning off with some breakfast burritos which I must say was delicious. Then we all packed our gear up and loaded up the van. We began our three hour drive to the south. Our hike was 16 miles long altogether. We started it out with a 5 mile hike to our first camp spot which wasn’t too hard of a hike considering we had 40 pounds plus on and in our back pack. The terrain can be steep and rocky at times and the landscape is dotted with jumping cholla cactus which if you brush up against one you’ll know why… it ‘jumps’ out and sticks to you, along with beautiful saguaro’s and other desert vegetation. It’s amazing how beautiful it really it is.
Sunday night we all feasted on some macaroni and cheese which was delicious and we ate it up like it was nobodies business. The next day we did a 8 mile hike and our trip guides lead us off trail so we had to climb a 2,000 elevation hill to get to the other side where the trail was and we eventually got to the other side. We all had a really great time and are PMA’s (positive mental attitude) were super high. That night we all feasted on some Top Ramen and it was super good. The next day we woke up super early to go on a 4 mile hike back to the van. It was hard for some of us to get up that early and immediately start hiking as soon as we awoke which was easy for me. But all together we all had a super great time and it was a great group.
