The main obstacle that would have kept me from coming to Back2Basics would have been my resentment towards my father. But that changed when he was the only person to show up at the hospital and be there for me. It really opened my mind. I’m fairly new here to B2B, but it is already worth it. It’s given me a better outlook on my life and more positive surroundings, both of which have lead me to positive actions. The parts I like best are the therapy aspect and the community meetings, also the outdoor adventure trips are pretty cool and rewarding. I think the benefits of B2B are when you’ll start to see that your old ways of living wasn’t what you really wanted. Happiness and respect doesn’t come with drugs and alcohol but with honesty and discipline. You’ll also see your family start to recognize their son again. Coming here has caused me to be open and honest with not only myself but with other people as well. Learning recovery here at B2B, I know who I am and what my goals are. It hasn’t been easy for me or my family and there are people I would want to thank for B2B. My father for one, the outdoor guides, Roy DuPrez and all the persons who previously went through the program before me.
