NAU-TV recognizes Back2Basics community presence and features current B2B client and NAU student.
NAU-TV is currently producing a segment featuring Flagstaff, AZ local Back2Basics drug and alcohol treatment center. The piece focuses on Back2Basics’ community involvement and life-skill building programs such as culinary, outdoor adventure and classes at Northern Arizona University.
“This is a really unique place where we live and Back2Basics takes advantage of that,” said Theresa Bierer, NAU-TV producer.
Bierer thought to feature Back2Basics after catching wind of current 21–year-old B2B client Ross Pollard who’s balancing sobriety and school at NAU. “He has a unique background and has overcome many obstacles,” said Bierer.

Explore What We Can Do →Over a six month period of time clients take college courses, participate in outdoor adventure trips – currently clients are on a cultural immersion trip in Ixtapa, Mexico – and relearn cooking and cleaning skills.
“We consider Back2Basics a long-term recovery program,” said CEO and founder Roy DuPrez. “With six months under their belt, these young men are more likely to successfully assimilate into the real world and become positive members of their community.”

Get in Touch →“Clients were very excited to prepare an Asian meal and be filmed while in action,” said DuPrez. “They prepared orange red chili chicken, steamed rice, sausage and vegetable egg rolls and a fresh, green bean sesame vinaigrette salad with green onion and shiitake mushroom – the film crew joined us for lunch and praised the meal.”
The segment is scheduled to air in early December on local HD station Sudden Link and FOX Sports Arizona.
