I have just celebrated my 60 days sober at Back 2 Basics Soberliving and the journey up to this point of having 2 months clean has been one of hardest moment in my life however, it has also given me hope, serenity, and the opportunity for a future.
There is a part of me that feels these 2 months of sobriety isn’t something to be proud of because I only made it this far because I am in drug and alcohol treatment center. I am very scared that I’m going to relapse and never make it back to the rooms of 12 step meeting again. It’s very confusing that at times I have an overbearing desire to use, while at other times I really want to be sober and continue this road to recovery. It feels weird to have been sober for 60 days. It’s extremely uncomfortable and unsettling for me but all I can do is continue my process in recovery and hope to God that I make it.
As of right now, I’m grateful I have 60 days sobriety under my belt. Not only will this help me succeed in my recovery but I also know that I want this sobriety for myself and for my family.
