I’ve really enjoyed the outdoors and everything that comes with it. Our last trip felt amazing to me and its always a good break to our everyday routine. It feels so good to get some physical activity in and have those experiences under our belts. Visiting new acclaimed places is an amazing experience and really helps me realize there is something bigger. It’s humbling to know that there is something beautiful that’s out of my control. I feel connected with nature and in return with myself.

Climbing or canyoneering was one of my favorite experiences. Using my body and finding new physical capabilities.  Its amazing and with heights and slight danger it had me excited to see what was up ahead and into the next corner. Talking to Rick was a cool experience and eye opener to how many people there are who have had my experiences with Alcohol/Drug dependency. I’ve held on to what he said about letting others help me to help them. It’s selfish to not give others a chance. I’m hoping and shooting for the outdoor internship. I think it would be amazing to help other incoming clients here at Back2Basics and work in the outdoors. Helping those with similar stories as myself to find themselves and possibly find a new healthy habit. I think it would be cool and amazing to work in the rehab world. I love the chaos of things. I think its cool that things are and will always change. New experiences and a non linear lifestyle is the spice of life for me.

It’s wild how fast the time has gone by in residential. The individual days seem to crawl by but time as a whole has gone by quick. I’ve tried to take advantage of my time and have come a long way spiritually and emotionally. I love that i came here thinking that all I would get was my sobriety and than I’d be off to do me. In actuality I’ve got my happiness and some friends that I couldn’t and wouldn’t change. Everything happens for a reason and its been a long time before I truly believed that. I cant wait to see whats in store for my future.
