An Awesome Trip With Awesome People

This last week we explored Southern Arizona. This trip was a weeklong over Christmas, and it was definitely an emotional time away. This was my first Christmas not with my family, so I thought it was going to be really tough. We left on Sunday the 23rd and headed toward Tucson to arrive at Picacho Pass for a day hike. Although it was a short four-mile hike, it was pretty steep and intense. Once at the top there was na amazing view of all the landscape surrounding.

The following day we explored some very old but newly discovered caves/caverns. There were some pretty old and amazing things in the caves, hundreds of thousands of years old.

The next day on Christmas, we slept in and opened presents around a campfire before going on another hike. We scrambled up a hill at Cochise Stronghold and found a really cool body of water that some people decided to go in. On Wednesday we went on a hike that escalated into a massive snowball fight and then went to the historic town of Tombstone. There we watched a reenactment of Billy the Kid’s forst kill and some other important things that related to the town.

Finally, on Thursday we visited a nature preserve and did another hike there. We then drove to Bisbee and stayed at this 1950’s themed RV park. We rented old airstreams and stayed in them after our ghost tour of the town. There was so much going on that I really didn’t have time to trip about being away from my family. All around it was an awesome trip with awesome people.
