Culinary is moving along with our garden project. We have done some cleaning up of the area by removing rocks and weeds. One of the clients helped me empty one of the compost bins and spread in the garden area. Much more work needs to be done. We will be purchasing some railroad ties to enclose the areas for planting and building planters with spare rock from the yard along the side. I am working with Mike, B2B Residential Director, to put in a patio area at the top of the garden. We plan to put table and chairs in that area so we have a meditation and reflection area. This Saturday, as part of culinary class, we will be attending a lecture at a local nursery to learn about “red wiggly worms” as an integral part of composting. In the next week. I will begin to plant some seeds for starters for the coming months. Still cool in here Flagstaff and we are expecting rain and snow this weekend.
